EFFUTU EXHIBITORS SHOWCASE BUSINESS AND TRADE POTENTIALS AT 2023 CENTRAL REGIONAL EXPO

Participants from the Effutu Municipality have joined over 400 exhibitors at the 2023 Central Regional Expo which officially opened on Monday, August 28, 2023 at the Adisadel College School Park in Cape Coast.Exhibitors have since August 25, 2023 provided the necessary exposure to the investment community by showcasing a variety of goods and services to the public, among them being a display of jewelry, beverages, agrochemicals, handicrafts and herbal remedies. Institutions like Banks, tour operators, insurance providers as well as government agencies such as the Food and Drugs Authority and the Ghana Enterprise Agency (GEA) have also secured their booths to partake in the fair.

The Central Regional Trade, Tourism and Business Investment Fair is aimed at increasing global visibility for the region as well as ensuring promotions, collaborations and revenue generation in the region.In an address at the opening of the Fair, the Central Regional Minister Hon. Justina Marigold Assan, noted that this year’s exhibition holds a special significance as it was organized in partnership with TIAST Group West Africa from China, a leading organization dedicated to agricultural development and industrialization of Agriculture.She said that the group has been instrumental in supporting farmers and agribusiness investors with essential funding, technical and technological support and offtake services for agricultural products that specialize not only in agriculture but also in health and information technology.Touching on the theme “Sustainable Business Opportunities; Nurturing Small and Medium- Scale Enterprises in the Central Region” Hon. Justina Marigold Assan, intimated that the fair was a follow-up of successes of the 2022 edition which gave opportunities to over 300 exhibitors from large, medium and small-scale enterprises, especially the private businesses, to get the exposure they needed to market their products and services.In an address read on his behalf, the Minister for Trade and Industry, Hon. Kobina Tahir Hammond, lauded the Central Regional Coordinating Council for partnering with reputable international organizations like the TIAST Group to put together the trade, tourism and investment fair with the aim of growing businesses in the region to drive in investors as fostering trade and investment ties with understanding and cooperation to boost national development.He outlined Government’s vision for trade and made a case for why trade is a force for good in addressing the current and future challenges.Hon. K.T Hammond assured that Government will continuously pursue programmes aimed at improving the trade sector to drive in investors with the aim of positioning medium and small-scale businesses to compete on international platforms to bring about development as well as growing the local economy to affect the living standards of the Ghanaian people.
