The Effutu Municipal Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to effective governance and sustainable development following an Executive Committee Meeting held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Assembly’s Conference Hall.
The meeting, chaired by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Rev. Atta Mensah, brought together Executive Committee members and Heads of Departments to review the implementation of previous resolutions and deliberate on critical issues affecting the municipality.
Addressing the meeting, Hon. Atta Mensah underscored the need for focused leadership, collaboration, and accountability in delivering quality services to residents. He highlighted key priority areas, including service delivery, prudent financial management, infrastructure maintenance, land use planning, education, healthcare, local economic development, environmental sustainability, transparency, and public safety.
He urged members to place the interests of the people above partisan considerations and work collectively to make decisions that promote the municipality’s growth and development.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Majeed Ayariga, introduced newly appointed Heads of Departments and encouraged them to foster teamwork and strengthen interdepartmental collaboration to ensure the effective implementation of the Assembly’s programmes.
Among the major issues discussed were the regulation of Pragya tricycle operations to improve road safety and order, enforcement of by-laws to address the growing challenge of stray cattle within communities, and the need for developers to obtain the required development permits before undertaking construction projects to ensure orderly physical development.
The Committee also reviewed the implementation of previous decisions and reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing the resolutions reached while strengthening collaboration to enhance service delivery and improve the quality of life of residents in the Effutu Municipality.
