The Municipal Chief Executive for the Effutu Municipal Assembly, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim continued his tour of monitoring the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination in the Municipality on day- four (4) of the exams with visitations to all the five centres for the exams at the Winneba Secondary School on Thursday, August 10, 2023.
The fourth day saw the 1,840 students sitting for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination in the Effutu Municipality writing papers in mathematics and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with an atmosphere of peace witnessed in all the centres visited.
The MCE’s visit was to instill confidence in the candidates to face the exams with the mindset of excelling to propel them to greater heights in the education ladder.
Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim entreated the candidates to be studious and pass well to benefit from the Free Senior High School Programme adding that the examination was an index to measure their academic performance and to determine whether they could further their education.
He admonished the students to do independent work and desist from examination malpractices that could contribute to the cancellation of their papers and truncate their education.
Hon. Zubairu also visited centres where special students in “Dysgraphia and Dyslexia were taking the exams orally with supervision by the Central Regional Coordinator for Special Education.
A total of 56 schools made up of 23 public schools and 33 private schools produced 1,840 candidates with 884 boys and 956 girls for this year’s BECE in the Effutu Municipality. STORY BY: CHARLES BAAH ABOAGYE -ISD
