The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has reaffirmed its commitment to community development with the donation of a brand-new tricycle to support the 41st National Farmers’ Day celebration in the Effutu Municipality. The presentation was made on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, ahead of this year’s event scheduled for Friday, December 5, 2025, at Ansaful, a community near Winneba.The donation forms part of the University’s longstanding social responsibility to the people of Effutu and its desire to honour the hardworking farmers who contribute immensely to national development.Presenting the tricycle on behalf of the University, the Registrar, Mrs. Ekua Abedi Benefo, reiterated UEW’s unwavering dedication not only to academic excellence but also to the holistic development of the Effutu community. She emphasized that the University considers itself a key partner in the Municipality’s growth agenda.“UEW will continue to contribute its widow’s mite to drive the development of Effutu,” Mrs. Benefo said. She highlighted the invaluable contribution of farmers to Ghana’s economy, stating that the tricycle earmarked for the ultimate winner of this year’s Farmers’ Day celebration in Effutu symbolizes the University’s resolve to support agencies and initiatives that promote community progress.Receiving the donation on behalf of the Effutu Municipal Assembly, the Municipal Information Officer, Mr. Charles Baah Aboagye in the company of Assistant Directors Victoria Anku Nutafe and Nana Agyir, expressed profound appreciation for the gesture. He conveyed the gratitude of the Municipal Chief Executive and the entire Effutu community, noting that UEW has consistently supported the Municipality’s efforts to reward farmers over the years.“UEW has been a dependable partner, generously contributing to initiatives that celebrate the dedication and hard work of our farmers,” Mr. Aboagye remarked.
