AFENYO- MARKIN DONATES TWO PICKUP VEHICLES TO EFFUTU DIVISIONAL POLICE COMMAND

In a strategic move to enhance security and promote peace in the Effutu Municipality, the Majority Leader of Ghana’s 8th Parliament, Alexander Afenyo- Markin, has donated two 4X4 Changan Hunter Pickup trucks and office logistics to the Winneba Police Central Band and the Winneba Divisional Police Command. The donation which included sets of computers and printers, 33 laptops and a brand-new engine for the Command’s broken down Navera Pickup vehicle underscores the Effutu Lawmaker’s commitment at supporting the Municipality’s safety and well- being, aligning with his vision and efforts to contribute positively to the total development of the area. Presenting the keys of the vehicles on behalf of the Effutu Lawmaker at a short ceremony at the forecourt of the Divisional Police Headquarters on Monday, November 18, 2024 at Winneba , the Municipal Chief Executive for the Effutu Municipal Assembly, Alhaji Zubairu Kassim noted that Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin heeded to the call to support the Police Service in the area with the strongest conviction that Service would be better positioned to work towards ensuring that the peace and security of all constituents were guaranteed.He expressed optimism that the gesture would enhance the capabilities of the Winneba Police and ease the burden of providing quality policing to reduce the crime rate in the constituency especially before during and after the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.Hon. Zubairu Kassim entreated the Police to ensure the vehicles were not only maintained but also used for the intended purpose.The Acting Divisional Police Commander for the Effutu Police Command, Supt. Kyei Yeboah conveyed the profound gratitude of the Service to Hon. Afenyo-Markins and assured of proper maintenance of the vehicles to guarantee its longevity and continued service to the community.Supt. Kyei Yeboah affirmed the Service’s dedication to upholding and maintaining the high standards of safety, security and tranquility enjoyed by residents and institutions in the area. He noted that the donation of the vehicles and other logistics would significantly enhance the ability of the Police Service in the area to serve and protect lives and property within the Effutu Municipality.Supt. Kyei Yeboah reiterated the importance of shared responsibility in policing and highlighted the significance of logistics in their work. He expressed confidence that the donated vehicles would go a long way to aid police patrol in a wider area to respond to emergencies promptly and engage in proactive policing strategies.
