The Winneba Secondary School located in the Effutu Municipality on Saturday, October 26, 2024 marked its 75th birth with a Speech and Prize- Giving Day celebration at Winneba under the theme “Enhancing Quality Education through Science, Technology, and Innovation: The Role of Stakeholders”.The event which climaxed the week-long celebration brought together dignitaries, stakeholders, old students and well wishers who gathered to reflect on the past and support plans for the future aimed at impacting positively on the development of students.Addressing the gathering, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central who represented the Vice President of the Republic, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong expressed the need to have the vision and mission of the foundation fathers of the school to guide all deliberations to maximize the achievement of the school.Hon. Kennedy Agyapong lauded the management and staff of the school for the immense and selfless services they continue to offer in student development, adding that their commitment and dedication to service has shaped the quality of students produced over the years and led the school in achieving laurels for the realization of its vision and mission.He encouraged the students to take their studies seriously and represent the good image of WINNESEC at all places and on all platforms.The Headmaster of the School, Mr. Hayford Mensah Tetteh appealed for stakeholder support in enhancing the institution’s capabilities, particularly in the area of science, technology mathematics, and innovation.He touted the gains made by past and present teaching and non- teaching staff as well as students of the school in solidifying a positive image in the education sector and the country as a whole.Mr. Hayford Tetteh appealed to the various stakeholders including the old students and government for their support to help address the pressing needs of the school.Present at the function were the paramount Chief of the Effutu Traditional Area and Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, Nenyi Ghartey VII and the Municipal Chief Executive for the Effutu Municipality, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim.
