Municipal Chief Executive for the Effutu Municipal Assembly, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim on Thursday, June 13, 2024 joined a team from the United Nations Capital Development Fund to inspect a Warehouse being constructed for the storage of Food items in farming communities in the Municipality.The team’s visit was a follow-up to an earlier one in February 2024, through its LoCAL Climate Adaptive Living Facility, as part of its programme aimed at promoting Green and Climate Resilient Local Economies in Ghana. It also among other things held a round- table meeting with the leadership of the Assembly to discuss the progress of work and plot how to complete the project it on schedule to serve the purpose for its construction.The Effutu Municipal Assembly as part of the programme earlier held training and sensitization programmes for farmers on circular economy and climate smart agricultural principles as well as provided an alternative source of income with a training seminar on soap -making organized for 52 participants selected from communities in the Municipalities.The Municipal Chief Executive for the Effutu Municipality, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim stating the relevance of the programme, assured the team that the Assembly was going to work assiduously with the contractor to ensure that the project was completed on schedule.Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim pledged to provide the needed assistance for a trusted source of data of farmers for the programme.He said that the project on completion would open up the local economy by linking farmers in Effutu to buyers to create markets to boost their income generation to positively affect the local economy.
