MUSLIMS IN WINNEBA OBSERVE 2024 EID UL- FITR

The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim on Thursday, April 11, 2024 joined hundreds of Muslims in the Municipality to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr at the Wonsom Community Centre at Winneba.
The Eid ul- Fitr celebration observed across the globe to end 30 days of fasting is a significant festival held on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It holds great importance as it marks the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting and spiritual reflection, and signifies the beginning of a new Islamic year.
In his message, the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Zubairu Kassim advised Muslim youth to live in peace and harmony with one another and eschew acts of violence in the run-up to the 2024 General Elections.
He admonished them to view Islam as a peaceful religion and guard against being used by politicians to foment trouble to disturb the peace being enjoyed currently in the country.
Hon. Zubairu Kassim appealed to Ghanaians to respect the laws governing elections by sticking to the rules set out by law to empower the Electoral Commission to run a free, fair and transparent elections. The Effutu MCE assured residents of the readiness of the security agencies in the Municipality to provide adequate security before, during and after the 2024 Elections to keep the security of Effutu intact and safe for people to go about their normal duties.
He rallied the support of Muslims in Effutu for the Vice President of the Republic and the Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency for more development in the area and the country as a whole.
Hon. Zubairu Kassim urged Muslims to see Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia who himself is a Muslim as one of their own by coming together to champion his course towards becoming the first Muslim President of Ghana since the country’s 67 years of independence.
The Effutu Municipal Chief Imam, Alhaji Mohammed Issah Mansuru after leading the congregants in a prayer session advised Muslims to live peacefully in a united and harmonious environment to help protect the peace and security in the Zongos and the country at large.
Whiles making a passionate appeal to Muslims to forgive one another to safeguard the peace in the country, Alhaji Issah Mansuru prayed to Allah to increase the faith of all Muslims who sacrificed to fast during the season of Ramadan and reward them with more blessings.
