The Ghana National Fire Service in the Effutu Municipality have received a major boost with the support of a whopping amount of Ghc200,000 donation from the Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency, Hon. Alexander Afenyo -Markin for the procurement of office equipment needed for the effective operations of the Service.
The office equipment including office tables, swivel chairs, refrigerators, television sets air conditioners, Desk -Top Computers, Microwave ovens and office printers were procured after the office impressed on the Effutu Member of Parliament who doubles as the Majority Leader of Ghana’s 8th Parliament for the support to enhance the office delivery and firefighting operations in the Municipality.
At a working visit to the Effutu Municipal Office of the Ghana National Fire Service, the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim after inspecting the equipment charged the officers to take good care of the office equipment to serve the purpose for which they were procured as well as increase their life span.
The Effutu MCE who was accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Banini Dzorgbenyui Kwadzo, Municipal Internal Auditor, Madam Tawakalitu Raji, Municipal Planning Officer, Mr. Abubakar Saddique Adam, Municipal Budget Analyst, Mr. Kyei Stephen and the Municipal Information Officer, Mr. Charles Baah Aboagye later held separate meetings with both the senior and junior officers of the Ghana National Fire Service to know their challenges to form part of the Assembly’s development agenda.
Hon. Zubairu Kassim whiles entreating officers of the Ghana National Fire Service in Effutu to place professional competence at the apex in responding to emergency situations in their firefighting operations admonished them uphold the ethics of the service by respecting authority and sticking to the disciplinary procedures in the service.
He charged the authorities of the Effutu GNFS to strictly apply the appropriate disciplinary measures of the service and as well ensure compliance for staff to live within the rules of the organization, adding that enforcement of disciplinary procedures was fundamental and key to the success or otherwise of any institution.
The Effutu Municipal Fire Commander, DO3 Frederick Adu Opoku on his part expressed the gratitude of the Service to the Effutu MP and pledged to put the equipment to good use to improve the work of his outfit in the Municipality to benefit the entire Effutu population.
He assured the MCE that the Ghana National Fire Service in the Municipality will continue to exhibit professional traits by upholding the ethics of the profession in their dealings with both its internal and external publics.
