The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim has noted that the dualization of the Winneba-Kasoa highway is necessary to reduce carnage on the road as well as ease traffic to boost productivity.Responding to issues concerning the project including the demolition of temporal structures on the road reservation at Winneba Junction in a One-On-One interview on Radio Windy Bay on Thursday, February 15, 2024, Hon. Zubairu Kassim announced that the leadership in the affected Districts namely, Effutu, Awutu Senya West, Gomoa East and Awutu Senya East were engagement with the construction firm to make a case for some compensation package for the affected traders.He hinted of series of negotiations to extend the project to the Klemovic stretch of Wiineba town and made a passionate appeal to residents of Effutu to fully cooperate the contractor for a successful execution of the project to benefit entire community.Hon. Zubairu Kassim noted that some of the affected residents in the demolishing exercise to pave way for the project had long been compensated during the reign President Kufuor when the initial project was executed.Touching on the inauguration of the 8th Assembly of the Effutu Municipal Assembly, Hon. Zubairu Kassim congratulated the newly sworn-in members of the Assembly and entreated them to prioritize sanitation issues in their respective Electoral Areas for a healthy and clean environment before, during and after the 2024 Aboakyir Festival.According to him the Environmental Health Department of the Assembly has been positioned to offer the technical direction for more communal labour exercises in the Municipal capital in the lead up to the Aboakyir celebration.
