The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim has initiated a process of relocating traders affected by the dualization of the Winneba-Kasoa Road project.
The traders who were in the road reservation have had their structures demolished to pave way for the road construction which seeks to expand the road to ease traffic on the highway.
At a meeting with them on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 Hon. Zubairu Kassim noted that the Assembly will temporarily accommodate the traders at the site earmarked for a market project at Winneba Junction.
Tasking the Municipal Works Engineer and the Head of the Land Use and Spatial Planning Department of the Effutu Municipal Assembly to take charge to relocate the affected treaders, the Efffutu MCE warned persons who were not affected by the exercise not to relocate to the place to cause confusion.
He said that he will not hesitate to apply the laws to deal with any individual who may want to take advantage of the situation to disturb the peace in the area.
Hon. Zubairu Kassim ordered for all unauthorized structures at the place to be removed to allow for a proper allocation of spaces for deserving traders.
