The Effutu Municipal Education Directorate on Thursday, February 8, 2024 held a send- off ceremony for twenty (21) employees, consisting of three (3) former District Directors of Education some of whom were on reposting as well as eighteen (18) staff who retired from the service at the end of December 2023.
The Effutu Municipal Director of Education, Madam Diana Anderson in an address expressed the directorate’s gratitude to them for their selfless service to the development of the education sector in the Municipality.
According to her the impact of the service rendered during their service days went beyond the walls of the classroom to affect the municipality and nation positively with the provision of the requisite knowledge needed to build a strong human resource base for the country.
Madam Anderson intimated that the legacies of the retired educationists would continue to resonate in the minds of the students they handled in the service days.
The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive while congratulating them on their retirement, paid a glowing tribute to them, adding that they had contributed to the life and work of the Municipality.
He noted that the Municipality would still require their experience to be brought on board in the development agenda of the area.
Hon. Zubairu Kassim challenged teachers in the Municipality to dedicate themselves towards serving the educational needs of the children in their care to leave a mark in the history books of Effutu on their retirement.
All retired employees received certificates and plaques of appreciation indicating their years of service with the various employee associations including GNAT, NAGRAT, CCT-GH and COHBS delivering messages of felicitation on behalf of their members to their retired colleagues.
