EFUTU MP COMMISSIONS FIVE PROJECTS TO FOSTER DEVELOPMENT

Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency on Friday, January 26, 2024 commissioned and handed over five ultra-modern projects made up of three community centres and two Libraries in five communities within the Municipality to foster growth and development in the area.
The projects form part of the MP’s vision of building a strong and resilient local economy anchored on the rapid improvement of livelihoods in the area for the betterment of all.
The commissioned projects include three ultra-modern community centres at Woarabeba, Osubonpanyin and Ahwer Nkwanta as well as two well- furnished libraries and an ICT Centre at Gyahadze and Kojo Beedu to enhance community engagements and help improve on the reading skills of the youth of the area.
Handing over the Projects, Hon. Alexander Afenyo- Markin noted that the projects would go a long way towards ensuring that development spreads to all parts of the constituency to fit into the Effutu dream.
He said that the Ultra- Modern ICT Centre at Kojo Beedu furnished with brand new computers is meant to promote e-learning and help improve the reading skills of the youth in the area.
Hon. Afenyo- Markin admonished stakeholders in education and elders of the various communities to support Government’s efforts at ensuring that children of school going age have the opportunity of building themselves to enable them poses the human resource qualities needed for the job market.
He bemoaned the practice where children of school going age loiter around during school hours at the detriment of the studies.
The Effutu MP cautioned against the growing indiscriminate sale of prime lands meant for development in the area as well as sighting unauthorized structures to affect the proper planning of the Municipality. He challenged the Municipal Assembly to intensify its monitoring to crack the whip of unauthorized developments impeding the progress of the Municipality and retarding the smooth operationalization of the Effutu Dream.
In a related development, Hon. Alexander Afenyi-Markin cut sod for the construction of a multi-purpose office Complex for the Immigration Service in the Municipal at Nsuekyir near Winneba.
Hon. Afenyo-Markin announced that the contract is expected to be delivered within six months for commissioning and handing over to help end the office accommodation challenges faced by the Service (GIS) as well as improve its service delivery in the area.
He challenged his constituents to be tolerant of opposing views and live together in peace and harmony with one another before, during and after the 2024 General Elections.
