A former Mayor of Charlottesville, USA and the Executive Director of the Charlottesville- Winneba Foundation, Dave Norris paid a courtesy call on the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at his office in Winneba.Mr. Dave Norris who was in the company of the President of the Charlottesville-Winneba Foundation, Nana Akyeampong- Ghartey as well as a director of the group, Nana Asomani- Nyarko for a week’s vacation in Ghana informed the Effutu MCE of a planned donation of a Billirubimeter medical equipment meant for early detection of the jaundice disease among new born babies to the Winneba Municipal Hospital.The Medical Equipment worth $15,000 was later presented to the leadership of the Winneba Municipal Hospital to serve the purpose of saving the lives of new born babies to reduce infant mortality as well as improve quality health care delivery in Winneba and its environs. Mr. Dave Norris noted that the donation was made with support from Gwen Goodkin, a member of the foundation and the Black Student Nurses Association of the University of Virginia, USA.He said that the group was committed to the partnership with its counterparts in Winneba and would continuously work to deepen it to benefit both cities.The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim whiles welcoming the Former Mayor to Effutu, thanked him and his team for the support and pledged to collaborate with the Hospital authorities to make judicious use of the medical equipment to serve the interest of residents in the area.Hon.
