The Newly appointed Vice- Chancellor for the University of Education, Winneba, Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual in the company of some University officials paid a courtesy call on the leadership of the Effutu Municipal Assembly on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.
Welcoming the Vice-Chancellor and his delegation, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Banini Dzorgbenyui Kwadzo who spoke on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, congratulated the new VC on his appointment and subsequent assumption of office and indicated the Assembly’s readiness to deepen the collaboration with the University to achieve the goals of education.
He assured the Vice-Chancellor that the Assembly was solidly behind his administration and would support him to succeed in placing the University on the international map of education as one of the most enviable tertiary training institutions.
Mr. Banini Dzorgbenyui Kwadzo called for a collaborative effort at commissioning research into the Municipality’s dwindling fortunes of education at the basic level despite the massive investment made by the Municipal Assembly and the Central Government to improve the sector.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual on his part expressed the appreciation of the entire University and on his own behalf to the Effutu Municipal Assembly for the immeasurable contribution towards the growth of the University.
He called for a good bond and collaboration between the two institutions with the view of achieving the common good of the Municipality
Prof. Mitchual noted that a cordial relationship and collaboration between the two institutions would go a long way to help develop UEW into becoming an internationally preferred choice in terms of tertiary education and charged the Assembly to continue to provide the peaceful environment needed for the University to thrive.
