The Winneba Ministers Fellowship (WIMFEL) Group, made up of Pastors from some selected churches in Winneba, on Thursday, September 28, 2023, handed over sixty-six (66) waste bins to the Effutu Municipal Assembly for onward distribution to the electoral areas and communities in the MunicipalityThe group as part of its Sanitation Project has an objective of enhancing cleanliness as well as promoting responsible waste disposal practices to help improve waste management in the area. It also seeks to partner with the Assembly to empower the Assembly and Unit Committee Members to take charge of waste management initiatives in their respective electoral areas.At a short ceremony to hand over the Dust Bins to the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim and witnessed by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Banini Dzorgbenyui Kwadzo together with staff of the Effutu Municipal Assembly, the Leader of the Group, Rev. Otabil Barnes supported by Rev. Godwin Acquaye and Rev. Isaac Assafuah- Arthur, noted that the donation was to facilitate the fight against insanitary conditions in the Municipality.He said that it was the resolve of the group of clergy men to join forces with the Effutu Municipal Assembly to work together to ensure hygienic environments within the Effutu enclave.Rev. Otabil Barnes called for an all-on-deck approach to help tackle the waste menace by practicing the habit of dumping garbage in waste bins instead of loitering it on the environment.Receiving the donation, the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, thanked the group for the kind gesture.He assured that the bins would further be distributed to the various Electoral areas within the Municipality to serve the purpose for which they were provided to augment the Assembly’s efforts at working tirelessly to provide the direction geared towards improving upon the sanitation and hygiene situation in Effutu. Hon.
