EFFUTU MP COMMISSIONS FULLY FURNISHED 5-UNIT CLASSROOM CLOCK FOR HIS ALMA- MATER IN WINNEBA

The Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency and Deputy Majority Leader of Parliament, Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo- Markin, on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, commissioned a five (5) -Unit fully furnished classroom block for his Alma Mater, the Unipra North Junior High School in Winneba.
The MP who continues to impact his constituents positively also inspected the construction of a six (6)- unit storey- building being executed by him for the school with the aim of providing a conducive environment for teaching and learning.
Commissioning the project, Hon. Afenyo- Markin recounted with fond memories, the sacrifices made by past teachers of the school to imbibe in the students’ discipline and commitment needed to build a communal spirit for selfless attitudes towards nation building.

He recalled with nostalgia how the former headmaster of the school, Daivid Kow Annobil, after whom the project was named, committed them to combine studies with fetching sand and water for the construction of the main block which served as classroom during his days as a student of the school, a role that according to him built and sustained the communal spirit in students at the time.
He said that the ultimate goal of constructing the school block was to improve on the quality of education and make it accessible to every child of school going age within the Effutu Municipality.
Hon. Afenyo- Markin appealed to the students to be obedient and disciplined with the focus of learning hard to surpass past and present leaders of Effutu to achieve laurels to continue to place the name of the Municipality on the international map for the realization of the Effutu dream.
The Effutu law- maker who announced his adoption of his Alma- Mater pledged to offer the leadership that will continue to provide the needed infrastructure to position the school to give a stiff competition to private schools in Winneba.
The Headmistress of the School, Mrs. Comfort Amoaning Appiah, praised the benevolence of the MP in an address and noted that both the teachers and students owed him a debt of gratitude.
She said that the new block built and fully furnished by the Member of Parliament will go a long way to ensure efficient classroom management as well as provide office space for the teachers of the school to enhance effective teaching and learning.
Mrs. Amoaning Appiah assured the MP that the leadership of the school to put in place measures for the maintenance of the facility to serve future generations.
On his part, the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim who chaired the occasion, lauded the exceptional leadership traits of the Member of Parliament for partnering with the Municipal Assembly to address the infrastructural challenges in the Municipality.
According to him, the Member of Parliament’s commitment to building the local school infrastructure is in line with his work to improve education in the Municipality.
He called for the collective efforts of all stakeholders to help build an education sector desirable to train and churn out industrious citizens needed to realize the Effutu Dream.
