SACRED HEART CHOIR IN ACTIONThe Sacred Heart Choir, a singing group within the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Winneba on Saturday, September 10, 2023, marked its 85th anniversary with a heartwarming melodious concert held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church auditorium at Winneba.At the concert graced by high profile dignitaries including the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, the group formed in 1938 thrilled the audience to a variety of genres including classicals, hymns and highlife chorale music to the admiration of all.In an address, the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, gave an accounted of fond memories with the catholic church and the Sacred Heart Choir when he was introduced to their exploits since his childhood days.Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim though a Muslim recounted with nostalgia, how his grandfather who was a catholic drew him closer to the catholic faith making him enchanted with the quality the Sacred Heart Choir possessed from day one.He seized the opportunity to congratulate the choir and urged them to continue to work hard to inspire many in the church and beyond especially the youth in many ways to draw them closer to the Almighty Allah as well as contribute immensely towards building a nation desirable for all citizens of the country. The Effutu MCE admonished the group to work hard to continue to churn out new talents by encouraging the youth in the church to identify the God giving talents in music.At a fundraising to climax the event, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim contributed an amount of Ghc 1,000 to support the group and promised to help with other necessities needed to improve their standard to a greater level.
