EFFUTU MCE JOINS WINNEBA BRANCH OF GHANA COMMERCIAL BANK LIMITED TO CELEBRATE 70 YEARS IN EXISTENCE

The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kaasim on Friday, May 19, 2023, joined the Management and staff as well as customers of the Winneba main branch of Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) Limited to commence the commemoration of the Bank’s 70th Anniversary, marking seven decades of contributing immensely to the building of a strong and resilient economic base anchored on an excellent service to Ghana’s financial sector.

The commemoration of the 70th anniversary which was under the theme:  “70 Years of Providing Unraveled Financial Solutions towards the Socio-Economic Development of Ghana” commenced at all branches of the Bank across the country at exactly 10:00 am including Winneba with a cake-cutting event.

Addressing the customers, the Winneba Branch Manager of the Bank, Mr. Godwill Senaye, noted that the Bank was established on May 20, 1953 to among other things provide financial assistance to the people of the country as well as key sectors of the Ghanaian economy.

He said that the Bank has over the years been pivotal in providing financial support to various individuals and institutions of the country to better their lives and enhance national development.

Mr. Seneye expressed gratitude to the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive who according to him is a customer of the Bank for spending time to celebrate this special day with the Bank.

Recognizing the role of the Bank in economic development of the country in the past 70 years, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, said promoting economic development requires the support of strong banks like the Ghana Commercial Bank to provide long-term funding to individuals and industries to grow local businesses for the attainment of a buoyant and resilient economy.

Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim whiles commending the Bank for being a reliable and major force to recon with in the financial sector intimated that GCB Bank Limited has since its birth in 1953 laid down the marker for progress to the upper echelons of Ghana’s banking sector. This he said is evident in terms of the strides the Bank has made in the Banking industry.
