The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, has noted that the Assembly has put in place measures aimed at ensuring an incident free Aboakyir Festival to keep the peace and security of the area intact for the true picture of the celebration to be showcased to the world.
He said that the Assembly has taken steps to making the activities of criminals who have planned to disturb the peace of the area before, during and after the celebration unattractive.
In a one-on-one interview on Windy Morning Express on Radio Windy Bay, Hon. Zubairu Kassim posited that the Assembly will continue to be proactive by placing the security of its people on top of its agenda with the aim of protecting the lives and property of residents of the Municipality.
The Effutu MCE intimated that the collaboration between the Assembly and the Member of Parliament has paid off with the erection and installation of streetlights along the principal streets from Traffic Light to the University of Education Winneba North Campus to improve visibility and help reduce crime in the area. He enumerated the numerous developmental projects initiated since his assumption of office as MCE including the construction and completion of the ultra-modern Effutu Municipal Assembly Office Complex, construction of school blocks, and roads among others to the admiration of the listeners who sent messages onto the show commending the MCE for his exemplary leadership which is bringing more development to the people of Effutu.
In responding to the messages of commendation, Hon. Zubairu Kassim noted that he has been able to achieve a lot due to the solid foundation laid by the 2nd Majority Leader of Ghana’s 8th Parliament and Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency, Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo- Markin adding that lobbying for developmental projects have been easy because of the stature, influence and contribution of the MP in Ghana’s body politics as well as governance process.
