The delegation from the Paramount Chief of Kpetoe, Nene Nuer Keteku IV, on Thursday, May 4, 2023, paid a courtesy call on the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, at his office in Winneba.
The purpose of the visit was to congratulate the MCE on his appointment in 2021 by the President to his current office as well as show appreciation for the support and leadership offered the community’s quest to have the CEPS Academy Basic School in Kpetoe reconstructed.
The Spokesperson for the group and Head Master of the school, Mr. John Terkper, said that the entire Kpetoe community located in the Agortime Ziope District of the Volta Region appreciates the efforts being made by the Effutu MCE towards giving back to the community where he grew up and had his formative years as well as basic education.
He said the MCE for Effutu Municipality in the Central Region realizing the current bad state of the CEPS Academy Basic School in Kpetoe where he had his basic education lobbied the Customs Excise and Preventive Service after whom the school was named to initiate a process of improving the infrastructure of the school by building new blocks for the school.
Speaking with a feeling of nostalgia, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, recounted fond memories of his formative years at Kpetoe both as a student and a footballer.
He noted that the current state of his basic school continues to give him sleepless nights and he can only rest when he sees the glory days of the school back. Hon. Zubairu Kassim who was beaming with excitement over the show of appreciation pledged to commit his personal resources to support the reconstruction of the school.
He assured the chiefs and people of Kpetoe that he will continue to engage with CEPS until the pledge to reconstruct the school materializes. Hon Zubairu Kassim announced that he was in the process of organizing the old students of the school to contribute their quota to rebuild the school.
