Municipal Chief Executive officer for the Effutu Municipal Assembly (EMA), Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, on Monday, April 17, 2023, supervised the erection of poles and installation of Phase One of a 33No. Streetlights from North Campus of the University of Education to Traffic Light in the Winneba Township.
Prefos Limited, the firm contracted for the exercise as part of the contract commenced the cutting down of tree branches along the streets to pave way for the erection of poles and installation of the street lights in Winneba.
Speaking after the supervision, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim acknowledged that the issue of streetlights in the Municipal Capital had been of great concern hence the erection and installation of street lights to aid and improve visibility at night in the communities, and prevent road crashes as well as reduce crime, among others.
He assured that more of the streetlights would be installed in the coming days and urged residents to support the Assembly by paying their taxes for more development projects to be executed by the Assembly.
Residents and Road users expressed appreciation to the Effutu Municipal Assembly (EMA) and the Municipal Chief Executive for the street lights adding that they would help improve visibility especially during the celebration of the Aboakyir Festival.
