The Central Regional Budget team led by the Regional Budget Analyst, Mr. Bless Darkeh, on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 held a Budget Review Meeting with the Budget Committee of the Effutu Municipal Assembly at Winneba.
The meeting allowed for the determination and assessment of the Assembly’s financial goals, its current expenditure areas with future expenses likely to impact its budget as well as gather all necessary decision- making information required for the smooth financial administration of the Assembly.
The meeting also analyzed the financial performance of the Effutu Municipal Assembly within the current and projected budget of the Assembly as regards the implementation of the its financial policy including the role of the committee in the mobilization of the internally generated funds (IGF) of the Assembly.
Mr. Bless Darkeh, the Regional Budget Analyst, enumerating the mandate of the team sought to know the challenges in revenue mobilization, accountability responsibilities and strategies adopted to respond to the challenges associated with revenue mobilization. He recommended for the setting up of communications team to better communicate the revenue mobilization strategies designed to improve the realization of the Assembly’s revenue targets.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Banini Dzorgbenyui Kwadzo, noted that the Budget Department of the Assembly whiles drafting the composite budget captured the inputs from all Departments within the Assembly. This according to him helps in the synchronization of the respective departmental budgets with the composite budget of the Assembly to allow for effective spending.
