The Effutu Municipal Assembly is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to providing for the safety and security of road users in the area as it initiates the installation of road signs and Zebra crossings to serve as protective measures at vantage points in Winneba to reduce the incidence pedestrian- Motor Vehicle collisions in the area.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 led the installation of Road Signs and Zebra Crossings along roads at areas including the Winneba Technical Institute, Trauma Junction, Winnesec Junction and the Zion Girls Junction near the Traffic Light.
The Assembly earlier this month sanctioned the construction of Speed humps on the Highstreets in front the Ghana Education Service office and the one near the Winneba Technical Institute linking Winneba Junction to Winneba Town.
The installation of the road signs as well as the construction of the speed humps being executed by the Department of Urban Roads in the Municipality is seen by the leadership of the Assembly led by Hon. Zubairu Kassim as necessary guarding against pedestrian-motor vehicle collisions and accident related deaths in Winneba.
Hon. Zubairu Kassim maintained that the Assembly will continue to be proactive in protecting the lives of the people in the municipality by instituting people centered policies and programmes needed for its development.
