The Municipal Chief Executive for the Effutu Municipal Assembly, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, has commended the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Irene Naa Torshie Addo, for her outfit’s commitment at putting resources together for the commencement of construction works on the abandoned Effutu Municipal Assembly Office Complex.
The construction of the Office Complex which started during the second term of President Kufuor’s administration has seen no major works since 2014 creating accommodation challenges for decentralized Government Departments in the Effutu Municipality.
The Municipal Chief Executive for the Municipality upon assumption of office in 2021, prioritized the construction and completion of the project and embarked on several visits to the office of the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund in the company of the Paramount Chief of the Effutu Traditional Area, Nenyi Ghartey VII in an attempt to lobby her office to award the project on contract to solve accommodation challenges faced in the Municipality.
Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, in an interview commended the dedication and dynamism in the leadership of the Administrator Common Fund Secretariat for not reneging on her pledge to the delegation that visited her to award the project on contract.
The MCE said this when he interacted with workers of the construction awarded the contract to work on the facility.
Expressing his gratitude to the Paramount Chief of the Effutu Traditional Area, Nenyi Ghartey VII, Hon. Zubairu Kassim, noted that full funding has been deployed by the Secretariat of the Administrator of Common Fund with accompanying packages of two (2) Forty -Fitter Containers of office furniture for the execution of the project which is expected to be completed within six (6) months.
He said that the project when completed would house all decentralized Government Departments which are scattered around Winneba town for want of office space. This he said hinders the smooth operationalization and execution of Government business thereby affecting easy monitoring for effective productivity.
