Work on the construction of 1 No. 12m (2.5mx 2.5m) Box Culvert at Ntakofem in Winneba which commenced on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 is progressing steadily with the Municipal Chief Executive taken keen interest in the project with period inspection.
The overflow of the stream often floods whenever it rained heavily which sometimes makes it impossible for cars to pass and cause havoc to nearby residents and buildings in the area. The works being undertaken by Sika Sem Company Limited include the diversion and dredging of the Ntakofem stream to prevent flooding to protect the lives and property of the people who live around the area as well as students and teachers of the Pearl Academy School
The project with a contract duration of six months upon completion is expected to accommodate the volume of flow of water across the road during the rainy season.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Effutu Municipal Assembly (EMA), Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, has reiterated his resolve to continuously monitor and inspect the project to ensure that the quality of work is not compromised.
He noted that the supervisory role of the Assembly will be upheld for the good of the people of the Effutu Municipality.
