Beneficiaries of the Competency-Based Training (CBT) program in Winneba, have been advised to maximize the skills and opportunities gained from the programme to cause changes in their lives economically and impact positively on other citizens in the country.
They have also been admonished that the onerous responsibility of ensuring that the trainees who would be placed under their care throughout their career path receive the training that would make them better and responsible sons and daughters of Effutu in future.
The Municipal Chief Executive for the Effutu Municipal Assembly, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, gave the advice at the maiden Graduation of 54 persons who successfully undertook the Competency-Based Training Programme facilitated by the Winneba Technical Institute (WINNETECH) and the Ghana Cooperative Designers Association and funded by the GIZ of Germany in collaboration with the Government of Ghana.
Hon. Zubairu Kassim charged the beneficiaries to maximize the competencies and expertise gained to make significant impact on Ghana’s Socio- economic situation by putting into practice the authentic training acquired to make exemplary outputs to reflect positively on the sponsors who supported and funded the training programme.
He said that the Technical and Vocational education and entrepreneurial development prioritized by the NPP Government would continue to discharge its mandate to provide competent human resources as well as helping to create employment for the youth and improve the lives of the people.
The MCE also acknowledged the immense support continuously offered by the Member of Parliament for the area by placing emphasis and helping to strengthening the Technical and Vocational School in Winneba.
The Principal of the Winneba Technical Institute (WINNETECH), Mr. Martin Ekow Young on his part, noted that Competency –Based Training was necessary to provide quality standards in the industry.
He lauded the Member of Parliament for Effutu, Hon. Alexander Afenyo Markin for his contribution towards securing accreditation for the pursuit of the Competency- Based Training Programme in Winneba.
Mr. Young noted that the construction of a Fashion Workshop by Hon. Afenyo Markin aided the school to gain the accreditation to run the Competency -Based Training Propramme in Winneba.
Congratulating the graduates, MR. Young tasked them to be agents of change by raising the flag of technical and vocational education high in their future fields of endeavor
