An interim Executive Board has been constituted by the Effutu Municipal Assembly at the Winneba Central Market to manage the Affairs of the market for the next three months before an election is held to elect substantive leaders for the traders at the market. The team will also prepare the grounds for the election of Market Executives after the expiration of their three month term of office.
Announcing the appointment of the interim executives to the traders at the market, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, charged the appointed officers to be diligent in their dealings with others in the market. He cautioned them against arbitrariness in the execution of their mandate, adding that the Assembly will not hesitate to deal with any member of the board who uses his office to intimate others.
He advised them to avail themselves for the task ahead in ensuring that there is sanity in the Market to pave the way for a peaceful co-existence amongst the various traders in the market. The Honorable MCE tasked the committee to continuously engage the traders to honor their tax obligations to the Assembly to aid its developmental agenda to enable the Municipality realize the Effutu Agenda.
Hon. Zubairu Kassim noted that the committee was responsible for receiving and dealing with complaints about developments in the market from traders and other stakeholders. This he said should be carried out in a manner that will not cast doubts in the eyes and ears of the traders they represent.
The MCE was accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Francis Asiedu, the Presiding Member, Hon. Elizabeth Senah as well as some Assembly Members in the Municipality.
