The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), for the Effutu Muniipal Assembly, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, has inspected an ongoing dredging exercise of the Ntakofem River at the Klemovic area, a suburb of the Municipality.
He also inspected repair works on the major pipe-lines that supply water to most parts of the Winneba Township as officers from the Ghana Water Company worked feverishly to fix the pipes which got damaged during the construction of the Ntakofem Bridge at Winneba.
Residents who live around Ntakofa, the Cave area and low-cost will have a huge sigh of relief following the commencement of a dredging exercise in the area.
About 1,000 metres drainage in the area is expected to be dredged as part of a grand project to address the perennial flooding in the area.
Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, who visited the area on Tuesday (May 10, 2022) morning inspect the project assured the residents that the Assembly would continue to push for their interest to address the flooding situation in the area.
He continued his field inspection tour and interacted with officers from Ghana Water Company Limited to work assiduously to fix the water challenges caused by the damage to some of its major pipe-lines in Winneba.
Hon. Zubairu Kassim later joined the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central and Board Chairman of the Ghana Water Company Limited, Hon. Patrick Yaw Boamah to pay a courtesy call on Kenpong Football Academy at their camping base in Winneba in the Central Region.
Hon. Patrick Yaw Boama was taken round the incredible structures and facilities been put up at Winneba by the hardworking owner and President Kennedy Somuah Agyapong on Tuesday.
He was given a warm reception by “Kenpong Capuccino” himself as well as other staff and players of Kenpong Football Academy including CEO Thomas Boakye-Agyeman and Technical Director, Coach Oti Akenteng.
Hon. Boamah in the company of Hon. Zubairu Kassim led by “Kenpong Capuccino” visited the nice looking team’s hostel where the academy players are lodging, the state of the art gym, and coach’s apartment likewise the ultra-modern stadium and training pitches currently under construction at Winneba.
He was highly impressed and commended the leadership of Kenpong Football Academy for their great vision and supervision.
