GHANA PRISONS SERVICE HONOURS RETIRED WINNEBA LOCAL PRISONS COMMANDER

In line with the Ghana Prisons Service tradition of honoring retiring senior officers, the Service on Friday, January 12, 2024 organized a colourful Pulling Out parade in honour of the immediate past Officer- In-Charge (OIC) of the Winneba Local Prisons, Assistant Director of Prisons Peter Afari Mintah at the Local Prisons Yard in Winneba.The symbolic event which was attended by high profile dignitaries including a former Director General of the Ghana Police Service, C.O.P Rev. Dr. David Ampah -Bennin and the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim involved a series of activities such as a thanksgiving service at the New Jerusalem Pentecost Church in Winneba, a Pull-Out Ceremony at the premises of the Winneba Local Prisons and a reception at the Winneba social centre near Sir Charles Beach. Delivering a farewell message on behalf of the Effutu Municipal Assembly, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim eulogized ADP Afari Mintah as a rock star who worked hard with so much efficiency towards providing shelter and security for inmates and residents of Effutu.He described ADP Afari Mintah as a team player with an unmeasured track record, who was leaving behind an indelible mark in the annals of the history books of the Prisons Service as one of the finest brains with the zeal and commitment to achieving the best for the Service and the country as a whole.Hon. Zubairu Kassim congratulated the retired Prisons Boss for of the Winneba Local Prisons for a successful career and wished him well on the exciting adventures ahead.Preaching the sermon and dwelling emphasis on Hebrews 11:4, C.O.P Rev. Dr. David Ampah-Bennin focused on the themes of sacrifice and righteousness and charged the congregation to sacrifice certain desires and comforts in order to achieve greater goals.He touched on the need to chart the path of righteousness as exhibited by ADP Afari Mintah during his service days to enable them enjoy the fruits of their labour. C.O.P Rev. Dr. David Ampah- Bennin reechoed that the sermon was important in the lives of all believers by inspiring a positive impact as well as honouring the legacy of the retired Prisons officer.The event brought to a formal close, an impressive service of more than two (2) decades in the Ghana Prisons Service, a career that saw him hold notable command and staff appointments and retiring as an Assistant Director of Prisons in charge of the Winneba Local Prisons.Highlights of the pulling out ceremony include a parade in honour of ADP Peter Afari Mintah, mounted by cadets and officers of the security services, Group Photographs and the solemn Pulling out.
