Staff of the Effutu Municipal Assembly have been admonished to uphold the Principles of the Local Government Service by eschewing acts of gossip and work together as a team for the successful execution of government business in the Municipality.
They have also been advised against leaking official documents to persons and institutions outside the establishment with the intent of creating mischief and causing disaffection for the leadership of the day for personal gains.
The call was made by the Central Regional Coordinating Director, Mr. Michael Owusu Amoako at a working visit to the Effutu Municipal Assembly on Thursday, November 16, 2023 as part of his familiarization tour of the Districts in the Region since his assumption of office as the Regional Coordinating Director.
As part of measures to ensure productivity and efficiency at the Assembly, Mr. Owusu Amoako charged the Human Resource Officer (HR) to furnish his office with monthly reports on staff performance, attitude and attendance to work.
The Regional Coordinating Director also tasked the Municipal Coordinating Director to constitute a technical team for proposal drafting to court and solicit for donor support to aid the development agenda of the Assembly to serve the interest of the people in the Municipality.
Mr. Owusu Amoako warned against partisan politics activism amongst staff of the Local Government Service and other Ministries, Departments and agencies in the region and urged staff to shun acts of backbiting, lateness and absenteeism to enable them work assiduously to develop the area.
Speaking on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Banini Dzorgbenyui Kwadzo welcomed Mr. Owusu Amoako to Municipality and Region and assured of the readiness and commitment of staff to rally behind him to achieve the successful implementation and execution of the government policies as well as programs in the area.
Mr. Banini Dzorgbenyui Kwadzo seized the opportunity to enumerate some of the challenges of the Assembly including the staff strength of some of the Departments and units which needed prompt attention for Government business to thrive in the Municipality.
