A high-powered delegation from the Effutu Municipal Assembly led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim on Friday, October 27, 2023 visited the Winneba Municipal Hospital to commiserate with a staff of the Assembly who was injured in a robbery attack at Winneba.
Some dare devil armed robbers in the early hours of Friday, October 27, 2023 attacked the 41-year-old revenue collector of the Effutu Municipal Assembly at Winneba whiles she was on her way to carry out her mandated duty of revenue collection at the Winneba main lorry station.
The robbery incident occurred around 4:00am after the victim, Madam Mabel Asoban had set off to catch up with traders who reported early at the station to start trading in the Municipality.
The two-armed men who appeared in a red saloon car around the MTN Office area in Winneba inflicted multiple machete wounds on the female revenue collector and absconded with her bag containing the tickets for the day’s assignment.
Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim appealed to residents in the community to provide information that would lead to the arrest of the criminals operating in the area.
He assured that the Assembly was going to empower the police to increase police visibility in the Municipality at all times to reduce the incidents of crime, especially during odd hours of the day to rid off criminals in the society.
The MCE who visited the hospital in the company of the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Banini Dzorgbenyui Kwadzo and other senior management members of the Assembly lauded the commitment and hard work of Madam Mabel Asoban and promised that the Assembly was going to foot the hospital bills of her treatment at the Hospital as well as offer the needed assistance for her up-keep and wellbeing.
