The Management of the Effutu Municipal Assembly on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, held a meeting with revenue collectors of the Assembly to discuss strategies for improving revenue collection in the Municipality.The meeting which was chaired by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Banini Dzorgbenyui Kwadzo, was attended by all revenue collectors from the various revenue posts of the Assembly.Addressing the meeting, Mr. Banini Dzorgbenyui Kwadzo emphasized the importance of effective revenue mobilization to the development of the Municipality and urged them to be more proactive in the execution of their duties to ensure that all revenues due the Assembly are collected promptly. He warned against corrupt practices including embezzlement of funds meant for the Assembly as well as under ticketing with a call on them be transparent and accountable in their collection and reporting on revenue generated.
The Effutu Municipal Coordinating Director bemoaned the low spate of revenue mobilization for the 2023 financial year, which according to him was militating against the realization of the revenue target for the year and tasked the revenue collectors to develop and implement innovative strategies for revenue generation in the Municipality.
The Revenue collectors on their part, expressed their readiness to work hard to help achieve the Assembly’s revenue targets. The seized the opportunity to raise the concerns including periodic engagement with management to provide the forum for leadership to know and address their challenges to enhance effective revenue mobilization in the Municipality.
They requested management to support them by providing the needed logistics and training to enable them function effectively.
The meting ended with a resolution to improve collaboration and communication between the Assembly and revenue collectors under it for the development of a proper roadmap for improving effective revenue mobilization in the Effutu Municipal Assembly.
