The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, has touted the Municipality as the best place where both local and foreign investors could take advantage of the prevailing business atmosphere to explore a number of opportunities.He said that the Assembly, recognizing the numerous business and tourism opportunities continues to pursue programmes through the Business and Advisory Centre in the Municipality to encourage medium and small-scale enterprises to adopt innovative ways in carrying out their business operations to help in transforming business activities in the Municipality.Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim amplified Effutu’s business and tourism credentials on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 during the District Day at the 2023 Central Regional Expo under the theme “Sustainable Business Opportunities; Nurturing Small and Medium- Scale Enterprises in the Central Region” by calling on business persons in all parts of the world to take advantage of the
Fair and explore the opportunities in trade, agri-business as well as tourism to grow their businesses and also help in improving the standard of living of the people.
He underscored the Municipality’s excellence in pursuing sustainable and integrated development in a well-planned, secured and investor-friendly environment within the context of social equity and good governance.
Exhibitors from Effutu with over 400 others have since August 25, 2023 provided the necessary exposure to the investment community by showcasing a variety of goods and services to the public, among them being a display of jewelry, beverages, agrochemicals, handicrafts and herbal remedies. Institutions like Banks, tour operators, insurance providers as well as government agencies such as the Food and Drugs Authority and the Ghana Enterprise Agency (GEA) have also secured their booths to partake in the fair.
In a Power Point delivery, the Municipal Planning Officer, Mr. Abubakar Saddique Adam projected the economically viable ventures available to the Municipality including fishing, agriculture and craftmanship.
On Tourism, Mr. Saddique Adam intimated that the Municipality is blessed with remarkable tourism potentials and attractions including the Aboakyir and Masquerade Festivals, the calm water bodies, the Muni Lagoon, clean and attractive beaches, as well as many important historic landmarks, monuments and properties.
He placed a spotlight on the sacred Yenku forest in his presentation of the cultural heritage of the Effutu people which he said has for over 300 years been designated for the protection of bushbuck for the annual Deer hunting to celebrate the Aboakyir Festival.
He said that the Assembly under Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim has proven to be tourism sensitive and development conscious and is ken on taking inventory and documentation of all tourism assets and resources of the Assembly for packaging and promotion in an investment roadmap document for marketing, targeting domestic and foreign investments and investors for rapid and accelerated development.
The Municipality showcased the exhibits presented for this year’s trade and investment fair to the admiration of Investors, participants and audience gathered.
