A training programme on the Ghana Living standards survey (GLSS 8) has ended in Winneba with a closing ceremony held by the Ghana statistical service at the Windy Lodge hotel on the Monday June 5, 2023.
The training programme which commenced on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 with 220 participants saw 180 persons sailing through to be recruited for the Ghana Living Standards Survey. The GLSS training equipped the participants (recruits) with the requisite skills needed in data gathering in their field of work.
Addressing the recruits at the closing ceremony, the National Coordinator for the Ghana Living Standards Survey Round 8, Madam Abena Asamoabea Osei-Akoto, urged the recruits to put in much efforts towards working to ensure efficiency and effectiveness at their various areas of postings to help realize the objectives of the programme.
She charged the recruits to ensure diligence in their dealings by paying attention to details to obtain accurate data needed for the exercise.
An Assistant Chief Statistician and Acting Director for Communication and Dissemination Directorate, Mr. Johnson Owusu Kagya, whiles congratulating the recruits noted that the training was to engage the best personnel among the participants to execute the GLSS work for adequate and accurate data to be realized for national development.
He urged the recruits to work with passion and assist Ghana Statistical Service to monitor a number of level indicators.
Mr. Kagya advised the recruits to use the knowledge acquired during the training to obtain the necessary data needed for national development.
