Effutu Municipal Assembly - Winneba

A GROUP OF NURSING TRAINEES FROM NETHERLANDS CALL ON EFFUTU MCE

Students from the Mbo Utrencht Nursing College in the Netherlands on Thursday, March 2, 2023, paid a courtesy call on the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive as part of their visit to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba in the Central Region of Ghana.

The team made up of 28 nursing students, 2 lecturers and 2 tour guides from the Netherlands and 1 Ghanaian tour guide were in Winneba to have direct contact with the Ghanaian healthcare system. The team prior to the visit to Winneba paid similar visits to Nkoranza, Battor and some selected health facilities in the Eastern, Ashanti and Greater Accra regions.

At the Effutu Municipal Assembly, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, welcomed them to the area and urged them to explore the possibilities of partnering with their Ghanaian counterparts in areas that to would be of immense benefit to both countries.

He entreated them to share ideas on how to make healthcare accessible with the view of improving it to serve the majority of the population who patronize the health facilities for quality health care.

The team later visited the Trauma and Specialist Hospital where they were taken round the wards, unit and Departments of the hospital, consulting rooms, pharmacy and Mental Physiotherapy unit as they experienced health delivery services including checking of vitals such as temperature, blood pressure and pulse.

They team later donated some hospital kits to complement the stock at available to the hospital.
