Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, the Municipal Chief Executive for the Effutu Municipal Assembly, has handed over keys to a newly constructed 2-Unit Kindergarten Block with a rest room, office space, dining area and other ancillary facilities to the Unipra South C Basic School through the Ghana Education Service in the Effutu Municipality.
The classroom blocks, headmaster’s office and staff common room with modernized washrooms and a storeroom was funded with the District Assemblies Common Fond/Responsiveness Factor Grant (DACF/RFG) and has disability friendly fittings to allow for pupils with disability to access it like their abled counterparts.
Handing over the keys to the school through the Ghana Education Service, the Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, said that, his outfit realized the need to construct the facility following appeals made at a Town Hall Meeting by the Headmistress of the School and the Municipal Education Directorate seeking the assistance of the Assembly to construct the block to meet the rising educational needs of the pupils.
He charged the Education Directorate in the Municipality to closely monitor to ensure the maintenance of the facility to prolong its life span, adding.
The Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Mabel Judith Micah, on her part expressed her profound gratitude to the Municipal Assembly and Government with an assurance that the facility entrusted in their care will be well maintained. She said that the edifice would be used positively to impact on the development of the pupils in the Municipality.
