A Ground Breaking ceremony for the construction of a 1No. 2-Unit Pre-School Block with Ancillary Facilities at Unipra South School has been held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 in Winneba.
The project which is expected to be completed within six (6) months is estimated at Ghc 578,459.75 and is also anticipated to increase enrollment of school going kids at the Kindergarten level.
The construction firm, M/S Rahman’s Services Limited which won the bid to execute the project has assured of delivering a quality project on schedule to benefit the entire Municipality in realizing the goals of education.
Addressing the teachers, students and stakeholders of the Unipra South School at a brief ceremony to handover the site to the Contractor, the Municipal Chief Executive for the Effutu Municipal Assembly, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, said the project was necessary to reduce the infrastructure deficit faced by the school.
He said the NPP government since assuming the reigns of administration has prioritized the pursuit of policies aimed at reducing the burden of education and called on parents to enroll their children in school for a better future.
Hon. Zubairu Kassim advised the school
children to take their lessons seriously to come out with good grades that
would enable them to further their education and also become useful assets to
their communities and the nation as a whole.
He urged the residents of Wiineba to keep hope alive and have faith in the
government to provide more projects to the benefit of all.
The Head Mistress of the Unipra South School, Madam Emma Frempong, expressed the gratitude of the school to the government and the Assembly for the construction of the school block.
She said that the completion of the project will aid the realization of the three domains of education including Psychomotor, Cognitive and Affective domains of training the school children to achieve the goals of education.
