A day’s retreat for Directors of Education in the Central Region has been held at Winneba, the Effutu Municipal capital on Friday, May 17, 2024.
The second quarter retreat(meeting) organized by the Conference of Directors of Education in the region presented a review mechanism to the Conference to deliberate on several issues including issues of education in the region, previous performances, sharing of ideas, experiences and chart a new course for the advancement of the goals of education as a whole.
At the opening of the retreat the Effutu Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Alhasan Abdulai Issifu, who spoke on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, charged the District Directors of education to create innovative solutions to complex educational challenges facing them by sharing knowledge and resources in an atmosphere of togetherness and foster a culture of cooperation that empowers leaders to overcome obstacles that come their way.
He admonished the Directors of Education to embrace new ideas, technologies and approaches that challenge the status quo and push the boundaries of what is possible.
According to him, innovation is the key to unlocking the potentials in the educational system through the fostering of a spirit of creativity and forward thinking as well as adapting to the ever-evolving landscape of education.
The Effutu Municipal Director of Education, Madam Diana Anderson in her welcome address noted that the Directors of Education and workers in the educational sector represent the driving force behind the development of education.
She said that the retreat presented an opportunity for the Directors to reflect, collaborate and inspire one another for the realization of educational goals in the region.
Madam Anderson urged her colleague Directors to learn from each other by sharing their success stories as well as brainstorming to strategize for the development and growth of the educational sector.
Fraternal messages were received from institutions and organizations including the University of Education, Winneba, the Ghana National Association of Teachers, National Association of Graduate Teachers, and the Conference of Heads of Basic Schools (COHBS).
