CHARLOTTESVILLE- WINNEBA FOUNDATION DONATES AMBULANCE TO WINNEBA TRAUMA AND SPECIALIST HOSPITAL

The Charlottesville – Albemarle Rescue Squad through the Charlottesville-Winneba Foundation has donated a Ford F450 Ambulance to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital, Winneba in the Effutu Municipality in the Central Region.The ambulance would be used to convey referral and emergency cases of patients to and from other health facilities with the view of improving quality heath care delivery and saving lives of residents of Effutu and beyond. At a ceremony to present the vehicle to the hospital on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, the President of the Charlottesville- Winneba Foundation, Rev. Nana Acheampong Ghartey who conveyed the message from the Charlottesville- Albemarle Rescue Squad noted that the group valued the sister-city relations with Winneba and was ready to continuously offer the needed support for her development.He commended the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba for placing professionalism on top of its agenda and working tirelessly to improve health care delivery in the area.The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Zubairu Kassim who received the keys to the vehicle on behalf of the Effutu people and later presented it the Central Regional Health Directorate extoled the extraordinary support the partnership between the two cities has brought to the Effutu land with the counterparts from Charlottesville demonstrating continuous commitment through philanthropic initiatives which have contributed significantly to the development of the area.According to him, the previous donations including a fire engine (Fire Tender) to the Ghana National Fire Service in Winneba, medical equipment worth millions of dollars to the Trauma and Specialist and Winneba Municipal Hospitals have made a tangible impact on the well-being of the citizens of Effutu and its adjoining neighborhoods. Touching on the responsibility bestowed upon the people towards ensuring the proper maintenance of the invaluable asset, Hon. Zubairu Kassim noted that regular upkeep and diligent care would ensure that the ambulance remained a reliable and efficient resource for the hospital, contributing to the well-being of the people who depend on its services.The Effutu MCE expressed the heartfelt gratitude of the Effutu people to the Charlottesville- Albemarle Rescue Squad and the Charlottesville- Winneba Foundation for the continuous generosity and commitment to the local counterparts in WinnebaHe added that the donation goes beyond the physical ambulance to represent a commitment to health and welfare of the people.For her part, the Central Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Marion Okoh- Owusu expressed the appreciation of the Regional Health Directorate and called for collaboration and community support in heath care delivery, which she said was the cornerstone of success.She intimated that the donation had come to fill in a gap that would resonate the relevance of the facility’s referral policy as well as its implementation as espoused in the implementation of network of practice.
