A meeting between the Management of the Effutu municipal Assembly and the Donkoryiem Market Executives at Winneba was held on Thursday June 8, 2023 at the Municipal Assembly Conference Hall at Winneba.
The meeting was to address issues affecting the market including the closing time for the appropriate security measures to be put in place to protect the market from the activities of miscreants in the society.
Addressing the meeting, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Banini Dzorgbenyui Kwadwo asked for the cooperation of all to arrive at decisions that will bring about sanity in the market.
After several deliberations, the Donkoryiem Market Executive came to a consensus for the market to be locked at 6:30pm every day, a decision the Assembly adopted for implementation.
The management of the Assembly assured the Market Executives that official announcement on the decision taken will be executed before the implementation to create awareness for all traders at the market to adhere to the changes when operationalized.
The Market Queen, Madam Agatha Donkor appealed for the support of the Assembly in fixing the numerous challenges they face at the market including open gutters, weak pillars and the need to fix a slab at the entrance of the market.
Mr. Banini Dzorgbenyui assured the market leadership that he will task the technical people at the Assembly to assess the situation at the market for actions to be taking to remedy the situation to bring comfort to the traders at the market.
